The Help Desk Assistant position provides a single point of contact to the business for information technology related problems.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Be the first point of contact for customers and clients and provide first line support for any ICT issues
  • Provides assistance by phone, remote assistance, and using the ticket system
  • Asking appropriate questions and problem-solving methodologies. Walk the customer through problem-solving process and attempt to isolate the problem and identify solution, if possible. If unable to solve the issue, refer issue to the technical services team.
  • Updates the internal database with issue resolution details
  • Escalates any critical incidents to the Department Manager
  • Acts as a liaison between customers and the Technical Service Team
  • Follows up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • Minimum tertiary qualification in IT, Front Desk, Customer Service at or equivalent.
    Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and/or a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a technical, help desk environment
  • Must be proficient with MS Suite
  • Evidence of the ability to be collaborative with, communicate clearly and effectively, with all types and levels of internal and external customers who contact the help desk.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, ask questions, follow-up and address client concerns.
  • Evidence of customer focused orientation with excellent phone etiquette and experience dealing with frustrated or difficult customers.
  • Must demonstrate experience in a fast-paced workplace and ability to be flexible and responsive.
